Vision:
 
To continue to implement and plan Recreation and Wellness activities for people of all ages.
 
To promote healthy families and Community by way of wellness and recreation programs.
 
 
 
Mission Statement:
 
The Incorporated Community of Cross Lake will continue to implement and develop Wellness and Recreation programs as per their goals and objectives.
 
 
 
Goals:
 
To implement and develop the following:
 
  • Recreation and Wellness Center: To establish a facility
  • Horace Halcrow Park: Asphalt in outdoor rink – Skateboard Park at the Park
  • New playground: to purchase equipment
  • Establish Recreation and Wellness Committee (volunteers)
  • Develop Sand Bay: recreation area, golf, park, & hiking trail, campsites, picnic tables, landscaping, pavilion, fire pits, and outdoor washrooms
  • Networking and partnering with Community members and other organizations Local & Provincial 
  • Develop Sport Programs
  • Family Camp Out to continue at Sand Bay
  • Army Cadets: Established January 2005
  • Outdoor education: trapping skills, snow shoe making, fur prep and handling, rabbit snaring, fire prevention and life skills (trap line)
  • Fishing trips: day fishing, overnight camping, filleting and cooking
  • Home Economics/Industrial Arts: to establish programs 
  • Training opportunities: to establish the following safety programs: babysitting, water, canoe/boating, hunter safety, and gun registry 
 
 
 
Goal Priorities:
 
 
1. Establish Recreation & Wellness Committee
 
  • Advertising to recruit volunteers on local radio/T.V.
  • Nominate, Appoint individuals 
  • Plan workshops and training
 
 
   2. To Establish Recreation and Wellness Facility
 
  • To continue working with funding agencies to implement recreation and wellness plan Re: Community Center Study 2003
  • To have the recreation and wellness committee be part of the team in implementing the facility
  • Applied for Study ANA 2013
 
 
  3. Networking & partnering with Community members & Organizations
 
  • Local newsletter, public meetings to gain more support for the implementation of the Recreation and Wellness Plan.
  • To have meeting/workshops/training with all other local organizations i.e. Cross Lake Band
 
 
 4. To establish new playground and skateboard park
 
  • To complete Horace Halcrow Park
  • To obtain information on equipment, safety and guidelines required 
  • To find funding to implement plan
 
 
5. Programs: Sports, Outdoor Education and Army Cadets
 
  • Volunteers to continue with implementing programs
  • To involve as many Community Members, parents, and organizations to ensure plan is implemented.
